Queens ACT for Youth and Youth BoardWho We Are

Queens ACT for Youth is spearheaded by The Child Center of New York (formerly the Queens Child Guidance Center) and the Office of Queens Borough President, Helen Marshall. As the most diverse community in the nation, Queens is also the largest of the five boroughs in the city. In the last decade, the population increase in Queens accounted for nearly half of the city’s overall growth. Queens youth face overcrowded schools, age discrimination, transportation issues, poverty, and a lack of information about the resources available to them. But because youth are assets to the community with a great deal to contribute to community development,  key stakeholders have joined the Queens ACT for Youth Collaboration for Community Change (CCC). Representatives from the following organizations and sectors are currently active in the CCC: the Cross Island YMCA, Beacon 226, Basie Beacon, Parsons Beacon, FEGS Beacon 176, FEGS Beacon MS 43, Forest Hills Community House, Samuel Field YM/WHA, Sunnyside Community Services, the New York City Department of Education Queens Youth Development Office, and Office of the Mayor of the City of NY Queens Community Assistance Unit.Queens Advisory Board
