Creating lasting change through a youth development initiative requires reaching out to all community sectors. Youth development initiatives like ACT for Youth seek to build supportive communities where youth are

  • healthy and safe
  • valued and connected
  • engaged in positive opportunities
  • respected partners in decision making
  • active citizens

The ACT Collaborations reach out to a variety of community sectors: health care, government, policymakers, business, faith, and youth-serving organizations, among others. As a community’s commitment to positive youth development grows, young people begin to have access to the full range of opportunities and supports they need to succeed now and in the future.

The ACT for Youth Center of Excellence also engages youth through a state-wide Youth Network.

Resources for youth development presentations are available through the ACT for Youth Positive Youth Development Resource Manual
